Michigan Launches Program to Stop School Violence

OK2SAY encourages the school community to report student safety threats via technology.

Michigan has launched an initiative to encourage students, parents, school administrators, law enforcement and the mental health community to share and respond to student safety threats.

OK2SAY features a comprehensive communication system that facilitates tip submissions through telephone, text, email and other multimedia technologies. The program allows individuals to confidentially report threats to trained operators who then forward the tips on to the right law enforcement or health agency.

The OK2SAY initiative seeks to stop harmful behavior before it starts.
